New Affordable Housing Development Breaks Ground in Oak Park Community (Sacramento Housing & Redevelopment Agency)

A new affordable housing development by Mercy Housing is under construction in Sacramento's Oak Park community after a groundbreaking celebration August 18 with the City of Sacramento, Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) and numerous partners.
The project at 4995 Stockton Boulevard was once an eight-acre vacant lot but will soon be the site of 200 new spacious, energy-efficient homes for families.
HACLA partnering with private real estate firm to buy 669 apartments in Baldwin Hills

In a deal announced last week, the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) has partnered with private real estate firm Avanath to purchase the Baldwin Village Apartments, a collection of 669 apartments near Crenshaw Boulevard.

Alongside state and local leaders at a new Homekey project in Los Angeles preparing to welcome tenants, Governor Gavin Newsom today announced the award of $694 million for 35 projects that will create more than 2,500 new units in 19 communities throughout the state. In total, including today’s announcement, California’s nation-leading Homekey program has funded more than 200 projects statewide – creating more than 12,500 permanent and interim homes for people exiting homelessness.
Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority to build Franklinton apartments for low-income seniors from Downtown Y

The Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority plans to break ground in about a month on new apartments in Franklinton that will house residents who now live in the Downtown YMCA, where the residences soon will be vacated.
The $13.7-million, four-story McKinley Manor will be built at 1048 W. Broad St., near a Columbus fire station. The 44-unit building will house YMCA residents 55 and older once construction is completed by fall 2023.
