New NYCHA Leadership Structure Announced: Gregory Russ to Continue to Serve as Chair of NYCHA's Board as National Search for New CEO Begins

Last week, New York City Mayor Eric Adams today announced a new leadership structure at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), splitting the roles of NYCHA chair and chief executive officer. CLPHA Board Member Gregory Russ will continue in his role as chair of NYCHA’s board of directors, while General Counsel Lisa Bova-Hiatt will serve as interim CEO during the national search for a permanent CEO.

The Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) and Beacon 360 Management Inc. announced today they have finalized a $15.6 million financing plan that allows development to begin on Harriet’s Hope, a 52-unit new construction project that is a first-of-its-kind for Columbus and among the nation’s first service-enriched housing communities exclusive to human trafficking survivors.

Yakima Housing Authority receives funding for affordable housing project on Fruitvale

 The city of Yakima will soon see a 54-unit affordable housing project on Fruitvale Boulevard after the Washington State Department of Commerce announced that the Yakima Housing Authority will receive $119,000 in funding. The money comes from the Housing Trust fund, which the state is using to support developers and bridge the gap from construction cost increases, according to the press release from the department.

A new affordable housing development by Mercy Housing is under construction in Sacramento's Oak Park community after a groundbreaking celebration August 18 with the City of Sacramento, Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) and numerous partners.

The project at 4995 Stockton Boulevard was once an eight-acre vacant lot but will soon be the site of 200 new spacious, energy-efficient homes for families.
