This Privacy Policy (this “Privacy Policy”) is provided by Housing Is and CLPHA (collectively, the “Provider”) with regard to the Housing Is website (the “Website”). Protecting the privacy of Website users (“Users” or “User”) is as important to Provider as it is to Users. While Provider desires to utilize technology and provide improved resources to enhance Users’ online experience, Provider seeks to protect User information whenever possible. This Privacy Policy applies to the use of the Website and any collection of data that results from such use. By using the Website, User consents to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Personal Information
All Users that participate in Forums (as defined below) are required to create a profile on the Website. Provider may collect personally identifiable information of Users including, but not limited to: (1) e-mail address, (2) name, (3) home or work address, (4) telephone number, (5) regional location, (6) preferences, (7) interests, and (8) favorites (collectively, “Profile Information”). Information about User computer hardware and software is also automatically collected by Provider; this information may include: IP addresses, browser types, domain names, access times, and referring website addresses. This information is used by Provider for the operation of the Website and associated services to maintain the quality of the Website and associated services, and to provide general support data and statistics regarding use of the Website. Provider does not read or access any private online communications of Users. Information input by Users into the Website, such as Profile Information (excluding User email addresses) or comments on Website resources or within Website communities (collectively, Website resources, Website communities, and other Website features and services that permit Users to share information are referred to as “Forums”), will be visible to other Users in such Forums. Website Forums limit visibility to Users with profiles on the Website. Private Website Forums limit visibility exclusively to Users associated with such Forums. Provider will never share a User’s email address without User’s permission, except in accordance with these Terms.
If a User of the Website directly discloses personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through any of the Forums which are accessible by the general public or to other Forum Users, disclosed information may be collected and used by others. Notice is hereby provided to Users that websites which may be accessed through links on the Website may have their own policies related to privacy. Provider bears no responsibility for the privacy policies or management of personally identifiable information by external websites. Users should review the privacy policies of external websites to determine which personally identifiable information may be collected and/or shared.
Personal Information Usage
Provider collects and uses Profile Information as part of the functions designed to maintain the Website and to deliver to Users a community of practice, networking, and sharing of ideas. Provider does not share Profile Information with other parties or individuals. In addition, Provider may contact Users through email surveys or Website notifications to conduct research regarding Users’ opinions related to content, policies, initiatives, campaigns, networking and idea sharing that may be offered by Provider. Further, Provider may contact Users on behalf of other Users or likeminded organizations regarding ideas and resources of mutual interest.
Although Provider may maintain CLPHA-member mailing lists through or with the assistance of third parties for limited periods or purposes, such as the distribution of marketing materials or other relevant information; Provider does not license or sell individual User lists or Profile Information. Provider may share data with trusted partners to help Provider perform statistical analyses or send Users e-mail. Provider tracks Website pages and links visited or accessed by Users within the Website in order to determine what Provider topics and content are the most popular and to improve the quality and relevance of Website content for Users. In accordance with preferences selected by Users while entering Profile Information, data may be used to develop and deliver customized content to Users. Provider will only disclose Profile Information, without notice, if it determines in good faith that disclosure is required by law or that disclosure is necessary to (a) conform to the requirements of law or comply with legal process served on Provider or the Website; (b) protect and defend the property or rights of Provider; or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the safety of Provider staff, members or the public. Provider shall have no liability for the disclosure of Profile Information made in good faith under this Privacy Policy.
Security of Profile Information
Provider endeavors to maintain the security of Profile Information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure by maintaining Profile Information on computer servers operated in a controlled, secure environment protected through commercially reasonable measures from unauthorized access. However, while Provider takes security of Profile Information seriously and makes all reasonable efforts to protect Profile information, unauthorized access, use or disclosure may nonetheless occur and Provider shall have no liability for such unauthorized access use or disclosure unless caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of Provider.
Use of Cookies
Website may use “cookies” to help personalize the online experience of Users. The use of cookies is a common practice of websites. Refund Policies
Check Refund Policy
If a registrant who paid their registration fee by check cancels his/her attendance to a CLPHA meeting, they will receive a registration fee credit for a future CLPHA meeting and no refund will be issued.
Should a registrant cancel on or before the registration deadline indicated on the meeting registration page, he/she will receive a full registration fee credit ($800).
Should a registrant cancel after the registration deadline indicated on the meeting registration page, he/she will receive a partial registration credit – the full registration fee minus a $175 late cancellation fee ($625).
Credit Card Refund Policy
If a registrant who paid their registration fee by credit card cancels his/her attendance to a CLPHA meeting, they will be issued a refund.
Should a registrant cancel on or before the registration deadline indicated on the meeting registration page, he/she will receive a full refund ($800).
Should a registrant cancel after the registration deadline indicated on the meeting registration page, he/she will receive a partial refund – the full registration fee minus a $175 late cancellation fee ($625).
