The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved $33.3 million to acquire roughly four acres in Tyson’s urban center to support the development of 450 affordable housing units by SCG Development Partners, LLC.
According to a news release, the units will be a combination of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments and include about 5,000 square feet of community space. Households at 40-70 percent of Area Median Income (AMI) will qualify for the units

More than 1,000 Cleveland residents living in public housing have gained access to high-speed, low-cost broadband internet connection.
The project is a partnership between nonprofit DigitalC and Facebook parent company Meta. It is part of DigitalC’s EmpowerCLE+ service, which offers internet speed of up to 50 mbps at $18 per month.

The CMHA says the renovation includes 176 modernized units, new building systems, and a mural created in partnership with ArtWorks.
The redevelopment generated close to $36 million.

The Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh said affiliated nonprofits have dedicated more than $500,000 over four years to help students living in HACP housing with college tuition.
HACP’s nonprofit affiliate Clean Slate E3 and its partner organization NEED are offering scholarships to 23 new recipients and nine returning students. The group of 32 students is the largest in the scholarship program’s 13-year history.
