The Council of Large Public Housing Authorities (CLPHA) commends the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee for introducing the Road to Housing Act of 2025. This legislation represents a significant step forward in recognizing the scale and complexity of the housing challenges we face. We are particularly pleased to see bipartisan collaboration on a bill that spans multiple titles and reflects years of advocacy by CLPHA and our partners.

CLPHA, Industry Partners and Over 700 National, State and Local Organizations Send Letter Asking Congress to Fully Fund Rental Assistance  

Today, House Republicans passed the mammoth reconciliation bill endorsed by President Donald Trump after a tumultuous 13 hours on the House floor. The bill passed by a vote of 218-214, with every Democrat and 2 Republicans voting against it. Senate Republicans passed the bill by a slim margin earlier this week, with Vice President JD Vance breaking the tie. President Trump is expected to host a signing ceremony for the bill tomorrow, which is an acknowledgment of accomplishing his goal of passing the legislation by the Fourth of July.
