When Emily and her kids got an Emergency Housing Voucher, it wasn’t just about having a roof overhead. It was about finally being able to breathe. After bouncing between motels and uncertainty, she could tell her children, “This is your room. This is our home.” For her, it was a lifeline, a chance to rebuild, to give her kids stability, and to show that safe housing is where families start to thrive.

Public Housing Operating Fund Will Be Available in December

We’re pleased to share positive updates from HUD regarding Public Housing Operating Fund and Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program funding. 

 

Public Housing Operating Fund 
HUD has informed us that they will be able to obligate December Public Housing Operating Fund payments, contrary to earlier reports. PHAs can expect to see these funds available in eLOCCS by December 1.

San Diego Housing Commission Breaks Ground on 59 Affordable Apartments for People with Low Income and Veterans Experiencing Homelessness

Located about two miles from the beach and a mile from a transit center in one of San Diego’s high-opportunity communities, the Rose Creek Village development celebrated its groundbreaking today, commemorating the start of construction that will produce 59 new studio apartments with rents affordable to households with low income.
