Los Angeles County Development Authority throws ‘Bash’ for school year

The Los Angeles County Development Authority celebrated the end of the back to school season during the Back to School Bash at the Community Resource Center.
The festive evening included the distribution of school supplies, interactive games and resource booths for families.

That's what nearly one hundred 15-year-olds living in Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) residences are experiencing as part of a Counselor-in-Training Program in partnership with the Chicago Park District.
And as CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot reported Friday, life lessons are being learned among the fun.
New apartments at old Baker Heights site has units housing 67 once-homeless families (Everett Housing Authority)

Families have already been moving into an apartment complex that, for many, will help stabilize their lives.
The Everett Housing Authority opened the doors of Madrona Square. Sixty-seven of the units here give a home to once-homeless families.
About 200 students under the McKinney-Vento Act program will be served, Heather Stults, a manager at the housing authority said. The other 38 units are not subsidized but are considered affordable.
