Wednesday August 16 | 1:00 pm ET
As you may know, CLPHA’s Housing Is Initiative partners with the National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) on issues intersecting housing with out-of-school time opportunities. NSLA’s Public and Affordable Housing Professional Summer Learning Community (PLC) will hold its next virtual convening, “Reflecting on Summer 2023: Lessons Learned Looking Ahead” on Wednesday, August 16, from 1:00-2:00 pm ET. This PLC provides a space for public and affordable housing colleagues to collaborate, share program updates, troubleshoot challenges and learn from one another about summer learning initiatives.
Convening Goals:
- Hear from representatives from the Fort Wayne Housing Authority and Fresno Housing about their 2023 summer learning initiatives: what went well, what challenges they faced and what key learnings they are taking into planning for next year
- Consider and share your own experiences and how they have informed your on-going planning since, as NSLA says, "Summer starts in September!"
- Exchange best practices and trouble-shoot challenges related to implementing summer learning programming and partnerships
