Montreal Johnson spoke of “HOPE” Wednesday. She meant it as an acronym meaning “hope opens peoples eyes.”

Johnson lives at the housing authority’s Rockview development in the West Rock neighborhood. As president of the Tenant Representiave Council (TRC) there, she has been working with the authority on plans for phase II of rebuilding the complex — and joined officials at a groundbreaking ceremony for the mixed-use project.

NCHM Donates $100,000 to Save the Soldiers Home Project (Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee)

The National Center for Housing Management (NCHM), a national non-profit organization, has announced a $100,000 grant in support of the Save the Soldiers Home project on the grounds of the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center overlooking Miller Park. When completed, the project will restore six historic buildings, some dating back to the 1860s, and create 101 supportive housing units for veterans and their families who are either homeless or at risk of being homeless.

Wilmington to get first new public, multi-family housing in years (Wilmington Housing Authority)

"For the first time in years, the Wilmington Housing Authority (WHA) is getting ready to build a new multi-family public housing development.

Plans for the first phase of the complex, Dawson Street Lofts, are moving through the city’s planning system. Located between Dawson Street, South 10th Street and Virgie Rhodes Lane, the building will hold 24 one- and two-bedroom units across three stories.

"Garcia Street Urban Farm, a 4.1-acre farm designed to bring fresh produce and food education to San Antonio's East Side, broke ground Wednesday morning. 

The farm, which cost an estimated $500,000, will be managed via a partnership between San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA), San Antonio College’s Eco Centro and other community stakeholders.
