From Star News Online:

"For the first time in years, the Wilmington Housing Authority (WHA) is getting ready to build a new multi-family public housing development.

Plans for the first phase of the complex, Dawson Street Lofts, are moving through the city’s planning system. Located between Dawson Street, South 10th Street and Virgie Rhodes Lane, the building will hold 24 one- and two-bedroom units across three stories.

Katrina Redmon, CEO of the Wilmington Housing Authoritiy (WHA), said there are long-term plans for a second, identical building next door, which would bring the project to 48 units total. Pending city approval, Redmon hopes for construction to wrap on building one next spring."
