The House of Representatives and Senate Appropriations Committees have scheduled their Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 budget hearings for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Acting HUD Secretary Adrianne Todman will be the only witness at both hearings.
Meeting topics included various updates from CLPHA on HUD policy and programs and the latest developments in Washington, D.C., including FY25 appropriations, HOTMA, and upcoming CLPHA events. We also heard from Sue Popkin of the Urban Institute about proposed changes to the Census could exclude millions of Americans with disabilities -- you can view Sue's slides here.
On April 18, 2024, The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs held a full committee hearing entitled, "Oversight of Federal Housing Regulators.” The hearing primarily focused on what the federal government can do to expand America’s housing supply and lower the cost of housing.
