HUD Celebrates RAD Program Milestone of $20M in Total Construction Investment

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) is marking a major milestone: $20 billion in total construction investment. CLPHA members are proud to be among the 500 PHAs across the country that have utilized RAD to preserve, modernize, or replace over 212,000 homes originally built as public housing -- homes providing stability, security, and opportunity to an estimated 577,000 low-income individuals, many of whom are elderly and/or disabled.

HUD Programs Funded Through March as Congress Passes Continuing Resolution to Keep Government Open

On Saturday, December 21, President Joe Biden signed H.R.10545, the “American Relief Act, 2025”. The continuing resolution (CR) prevents a government shutdown, funding federal agencies through March 14. The CR offers economic relief to farmers as well as emergency aid to communities affected by Hurricanes Milton and Helene and other natural disasters. H.R. 1045 was passed with bipartisan support in both chambers, by a vote of 85-11 in the Senate and 366-34 in the House.
