Local Austin, TX news station KVUE highlighted the Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) and Dell Medical School's new Bringing Health Home initiative at HACA's Booker T. Washington Terraces in East  Austin. Funded via a $315,000 grant from the St. David's Foundation, the initiative will serve over 200 families at the community, over 75 percent of which have one or more chronic health conditions. The initiative's planning is currently in preliminary stages, and HACA and Dell Medical School are incorporating residents' feedback about what programs and services will best serve their needs. The initiative will include the hiring of community health workers to "administer door-to-door health assessments, develop and deliver personalized wellness plans to public housing residents and support group health visits and walking groups."

As one Dell Medical School representative said in the piece, "We've got to get out of the clinics, and the Housing Authority is the perfect partner because this is where people live."
