On Monday, May 17, HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge announced the allocation of $5 billion in American Rescue Plan funds for 70,000 emergency housing vouchers (EHVs) for individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

The Wilmington Housing Authority is making sure our oldest residents aren’t going without basic needs.
The WHA distributed more than 200 basic needs baskets to senior residents with the help of the Wilmington Fire Department last Wednesday.
The baskets included cleaning supplies, masks, and hand sanitizer.
HUD has announced they will host COVID-19 webinars focusing on Housing/Health Partnerships, the COVID-19 Vaccine Challenge, and Community Health Workers (CHWs). Please note that capacity is limited and pre-registration is required to attend.

When the pandemic first struck last year, it quickly became apparent to officials at the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority and its board of commissioners that something had to be done to help their residents who were struggling to adapt to a virtual existence.
Prompted by suggestions from CLPHA on the need to provide guidance to PHAs on ensuring access to vaccinations for residents and staff, HUD will host a series of webinars in April focused on vaccine access. The second webinar on April 21 will feature a presentation from the Housing Authority of the City of Austin on their efforts to help their residents access vaccines.
