Mobile COVID-19 vaccination event targets Cherry Hill seniors (Housing Authority of Baltimore City)

I’m very fortunate," said Doris Moore.

Moore is one of more than 80 Cherry Hill Homes residents ages 65 years or older who got their first COVID-19 vaccine dose Tuesday.

"It wasn’t bad at all," said Gloria Harris.

The Housing Authority of Baltimore City partnered with the Baltimore City Health Department and MedStar Health, using their mobile clinic to break down any accessibility barriers.

DCHA Works with Johns Hopkins Medicine to Vaccinate Senior Residents

Yonkers Begins to Get Vaccinated (Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers)

Progress is being made in the efforts to vaccinate Yonkers residents and residents throughout Westchester, with the COVID-19 vaccine. Pictured avbove is Eduviges Aquinio, a resident of Flynn Manor, was the first senior to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers (MHACY) held a special vaccination program on February 4th for seniors who reside at MHACY properties. The program, which was held at the Nodine Hill Community Center, vaccinated more than 250 seniors.

Vancouver Housing Authority names newest homeless shelter

Vancouver Housing Authority will name its newest homeless shelter after Bertha Baugh, a founding member of the NAACP Vancouver branch.

Last week, VHA closed on the purchase of the 63-room Howard Johnson motel near Vancouver Mall for use as a noncongregate shelter. It was announced on Wednesday that the property, which is not yet open, will be known as Bertha Cain Baugh Place.

MHACY Launches Public Art Project at Housing Complexes in Yonkers

In its continuing quest to improve public housing and engage its residents, The Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers has launched an ambitious public art project at its properties across the city.

The Mulford Corporation, which raises funds to supplement the housing authority programs, has voted to allocate $100,000 to commission Yonkers Arts to coordinate the project using local artists and artists of color.

Rent relief is coming for low-income Jersey City residents (Jersey City Housing Authority)

More than 1,600 low-income households in Jersey City will receive rent relief and utility assistance through the Jersey City COVID-19 Hardship Assistance Program, according to Mayor Steven Fulop and the Jersey City Economic Development Corporation.

According to the city, 95-percent of applicants for the $2.5 million in grant money will be provided to residents in The Heights and southwest sections of the city through local nonprofit partners.
