The Kresge Foundation awarded a $100,000 planning grant to the Baltimore Regional Housing Partnership to help increase health equity through housing in Baltimore in collaboration with the Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC) and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Housing Authority of the City of Goldsboro, Trenton Housing Authority Awarded Family Self-Sufficiency Grants

On Thursday, September 26, HUD announced an additional $1.2 million in Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) grants, building on the $74 million in FSS grants HUD awarded earlier this year. FSS grants help public housing authorities hire service coordinators who connect public housing residents with local programs and services with the goal of increasing residents’ earnings and decreasing their dependencies on public assistance.

The Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers (MHACY) was recently voted as the city’s best senior housing (non-site specific) in the Yonkers Chamber of Commerce’s 15th Annual Best of Yonkers competition. 

All winners will be featured in the Chamber’s August 30th “Best of Yonkers” issue of the Yonkers Progress.      

Vancouver to receive $1.88 million for affordable housing (Vancouver Housing Authority)

Vancouver will receive $1.88 million in new affordable housing grants, U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell announced last week.

The funding will come in the form of $1.24 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, or HUD, Community Development Block Grant Program, as well as $646,431 from HUD’s HOME Investment Partnership Program, the Democratic senator said in a media release.

The Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura was just awarded $18,983,730 from the California Strategic Growth Council for its Ventura Westside Housing and Active Transportation grant application.

The award is granted through the state’s Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program (AHSC), which funds projects that promote healthier communities and protect the environment by increasing the supply of affordable places to live near jobs, stores, transit and other daily needs.

SAHA Receives Low-Housing Tax Credits for $18 Million Development on San Antonio’s Westside (San Antonio Housing Authority)

The San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA) was awarded a 9 percent Low-Income Housing Tax Credit today by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) for Alazan Lofts, a new development that will expand affordable housing on the Inner Westside of San Antonio.
