Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) Celebrates Grand Opening of A Bridge Home Imperial

On Wednesday, November 13, HACLA joined with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, City Councilman Joe Buscaino, and community partners in the fight against homelessness for the opening of A Bridge Home Imperial. This shelter will provide interim housing and supportive services for 100 women and men from the Los Angeles neighborhood of Watts who were previously homeless before connecting with the facility, giving them a place to receive the support they need to get on the path toward permanent housing.

The Kresge Foundation Awards Planning Grant for Baltimore Partnership’s Demonstration Seeking to Improve Health Outcomes for Low-Income Families with Children

The Kresge Foundation awarded a $100,000 planning grant to the Baltimore Regional Housing Partnership to help increase health equity through housing in Baltimore in collaboration with the Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC) and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

CLPHA is pleased to announce part of our education webinar series is now open to the general public! Please join us for our next webinar on Tuesday, December 12, 2:00-3:00pm ET for a presentation from the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA), a coalition of hundreds of private and public agencies that since 1920 has worked to serve children and families who are vulnerable. CWLA will present on their work and how housers can intersect with the child welfare sector. As always, we'll have time for questions.

New Funds Will Develop and Sustain Public Housing Authority Initiatives to Improve Postsecondary Achievement for Low-Income Households

WASHINGTON (November 25, 2019) – The Council of Large Public Housing Authorities, a housing advocacy organization and leader in efforts to improve life outcomes for low-income individuals and families, announced today that it has been awarded $300,000 from The Kresge Foundation to deepen connections between public housing authorities and their postsecondary education partners.
