Congressional staff who focus on housing policy for key committees, Senators, and Representatives heard about the mission, work, and challenges of public housing authorities during a bus tour of several District of Columbia Housing Authority properties on Tuesday morning.

Riverstone Apartments in Federal Way is the latest addition to the King County Housing Authority’s (KCHA) workforce housing portfolio.

The attractive 308-unit complex sits across the street from the Star Lake Park and Ride, which in 2024 will be converted to the South 272nd Street Link Light Rail station. It is conveniently located close to grocery shopping, parks, and the Woodmont Library.

The acquisition expands KCHA’s efforts to preserve or develop affordable housing in regional growth corridors with mass transit.

The California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) Broadband Public Housing Account awarded the Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino (HACSB) a $484,830 grant for the Broadband Adoption Digital Learning Centers project. HACSB and partner Great Harvest Community Center, Inc.

The San Diego Housing Commission (SDHC) announced that the current phase of its homelessness action plan, HOUSING FIRST—SAN DIEGO, has achieved its three-year goal of housing 3,000 San Diegans experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in just 18 months.
