Congratulations to April Black on her recent appointment as executive director of the Tacoma Housing Authority! April previously served as THA’s deputy director and has long been an active member of the CLPHA community.

April’s appointment follows the retirement of Michael Mirra, who served as THA’s executive director for 17 years. You can learn more about Michael’s indelible impact on CLPHA and the public housing industry here.

"We believe that THA is best served by offering the position of executive director to April Black,” said THA Board Chair Stanley Rumbaugh. "After spending 12 years working for THA, with her last six years as deputy executive director, April’s consistent leadership, well-established community relationships, commitment to THA’s mission, and commendable vision for the future of the organization make her the most qualified candidate. The Board has complete confidence in April, and we look forward to working alongside her for years to come.”

CLPHA looks forward to continuing to work with April in her new role!
