Last week, CLPHA Executive Director Sunia Zaterman and other leaders from public housing industry groups met virtually with HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge to share with the Secretary our priorities and goals for the new administration, and Zaterman discussed the meeting in an Affordable Housing Finance article.
Zaterman told the Secretary that CLPHA's top HUD priorities are laying out a 10-year road map to recapitalize the public housing portfolio and an expansion of the Housing Choice Voucher program. Zaterman told AHF of the Secretary, “We’re very pleased with her message, her energy, and her experience across the sectors that need to be aligned. She said more than once that housing is central to so many other goals that the administration has particularly around climate and racial equity, economic recovery, and COVID relief. They all come together in this nexus around housing issues and increasing housing stability."
Zaterman also discussed housing production, emergency rental assistance, and COVID-19 relief with the Secretary. You can read the AHF article here.
