From the District of Columbia Housing Authority's press release:

The District of Columbia Housing Authority has partnered with Greenleaf District Partners, a team comprised of developers Pennrose, EYA and Bozzuto Group to begin negotiations on the redevelopment of the greater Greenleaf community, including Greenleaf Gardens, Greenleaf Senior, Greenleaf Additions, and Greenleaf Extension.

“DCHA is pleased to be moving forward with Greenleaf District Partners to create a new, mixed-use community with a commitment to one-for-one replacement for all 493 units and to provide build first options for residents” said DCHA Executive Director Tyrone Garrett. “We look forward to working hand in glove with the residents of Greenleaf and collaborating with the community to shape a future that we can be proud of together.”

Greenleaf District Partners was selected from five submissions for being the most aligned with the criteria set forth in DCHA’s request for proposal to redevelop the 10-acre community. Built in 1959, the Greenleaf community consists of 493 public housing units across 23 separate buildings, including garden-style apartments and two high-rise buildings. It occupies five blocks near the M Street SW and Delaware Avenue SW intersection, about a quarter-mile from the Waterfront Metro station.
