146 Boston Housing Authority (BHA) public housing units will remain affordable for at least the next 99 years thanks to a $47.2 million project in partnership with nonprofit community development organization Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA). 110 units will be funded through a RAD conversion, and BHA will provide funding for the other 36 units through project-based Section 8 vouchers. BHA will transfer ownership of the units to IBA, and IBA will lead the renovations. “This project ensures that these deeply affordable units are preserved for hundreds of families in the South End in the decades to come,” said BHA Administrator Bill McGonagle.
