Opportunity Home Provides Housing Vouchers to Address Homelessness in San Antonio

Opportunity Homes San Antonio has allocated 150 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV) to South Alamo Regional Alliance for the Homeless (SARAH) to assist the City of San Antonio in addressing the homeless population in the community. With more than 3,000 homeless in Bexar County, the need for increased housing options is critical.

New Haven's latest effort to close digital divide will help residents sign up for low-cost internet (Elm City Communities)

The COVID-19 pandemic put a spotlight on a digital divide in New Haven, but the divide existed before then — and it continues to exist. Now, New Haven will provide more tools to help close that divide with a $250,000 federal grant.

KeyBank Provides $14.6 Million of Financing for Supportive Housing in Tacoma, Washington (Tacoma HA)

KeyBank Community Development Lending and Investment (CDLI) provided $14.6 million financing for the construction of New Life Homes, a 60-unit low-income housing project on Hilltop in Tacoma, WA. This project will help to address the dire need for affordable housing serving individuals in recovery for substance abuse, those leaving the criminal justice system, formerly homeless persons, persons with disabilities, and veterans earning no more than 30% or 50% of AMI (Area Median Income).

Pittsburgh Housing Authority guides Steubenville council on neighborhood planning grant process

The Pittsburgh Housing Authority provided pointers to Steubenville City Council on Tuesday regarding the High Choice Neighborhood Planning Grant that council received in January. This is the first phase of grants the city can receive.

The housing authority has plenty of experience, as it’s received the planning grant in the past. Most recently, it is the recipient for the Choice Implementation Grant, which was for $50 million.

It’s been nearly two months since Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, signed an executive order banning fossil fuels from city buildings by the year 2050, and work toward those goals is well underway.

The Boston Housing Authority holds one of the city's largest shares of the city’s greenhouse gas emissions. The BHA’s fossil fuel-free target is even more aggressive — it hopes to be carbon-free by 2030.
