HUD Publishes New Guidance on Carbon Monoxide Detectors
In a notice issued today, HUD announced new guidance on carbon monoxide detectors for HUD-assisted housing. The notice reminds owners of HUD-assisted properties to maintain functioning carbon monoxide detectors when required by local regulations and encourages owners operating in areas without any such regulation to consider providing detectors.
Trump Administration Planning Changes to Rules for Undocumented Immigrants in Assisted Households

New Housing Legislation Introduced to Address Homelessness and Carbon Monoxide Detection
Two new housing bills impacting PHAs were recently introduced. The Ending Homelessness Act of 2019 (H.R. 1856), introduced by Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA), Chairwoman of the Housing Financial Services Committee, would appropriate $13.27 billion in mandatory emergency relief funding over five years to several federal housing programs and initiatives.
