Executive Director-Brookline Housing Authority

The primary purpose of this position is to provide overall leadership and direction to the Brookline Housing Authority and its employees to fulfill the Authority’s mission. This position is directly responsible to the Board of Commissioners for the overall management of the business and affairs of the Authority. The incumbent serves as the principal advisor to the Board of Commissioners on all management issues, making recommendations on improving procedures and analyzing reports to determine the effectiveness of overall operations. The incumbent collaborates with the Board of Commissioners to establish long-term strategic plans and is responsible for implementing strategic plans for the Authority. The incumbent supervises the following positions: Assistant Executive Director, Director of Finance, Director of Redevelopment, Director of Resident Services.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or related field and a minimum of ten (10) years of executive management experience in a public or private organization or government program with annual budgets in excess of $5 million dollars. Master’s Degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Must possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license (may be acquired if relocating) and be insurable under the Authority’s plan. Must obtain NAHRO’s Public Housing Manager and/or MassNAHRO’s Massachusetts Public Housing Administrator certification within one year of hire. Must understand the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program and compliance. Experience with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit financed development projects, RAD Development Projects, and Section 18 Demo/Disposition projects preferred.
