HACM & Partners Break Ground on Milwaukee Soldiers Home Redevelopment Project

On September 20, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) and developer The Alexander Company broke ground on the rehabilitation and restoration of the Milwaukee Soldiers Home, a National Historic Landmark District originally built in 1867 to house Civil War soldiers and help them transition back to civilian life.

The transformation of the former Yakima Armory into housing for homeless and low-income veterans is underway after the Yakima Housing Authority broke ground on the long-awaited project Wednesday.
Yakima Housing Authority Executive Director Lowel Krueger, U.S. Sen. Patty Murray and Yakima veteran Chuck Austin took shovels to the yard of the property at 1702 Tahoma Ave. and turned the soil.

Apartments to break ground (Fort Wayne Housing Authority)

The Fort Wayne Housing Authority will break ground Tuesday on a $13.9 million apartment complex on Spy Run Avenue Extended.
Dubbed River's Edge Apartments, the complex will be home to 56 one- and two-bedroom units of permanent supportive housing for homeless and at-risk individuals and families with disabilities.
