Pamela Atkinson, dubbed the state’s version of Mother Teresa for her lifelong work, said that since last April’s groundbreaking for the five-story apartment complex to be known as Pamela’s Place, people she assists daily on the streets have kept her updated on its progress.
Ventura Housing Authority receives $1.2 million in state funding through Project Homekey

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced $236 million in housing funds Monday, including a $1.2 million award to the City of San Buenaventura Housing Authority.
The Project Homekey funding will go toward the housing authority's rehabilitation of the El Portal apartments in Ventura's Westside community, which will create 28 affordable units. The funding will allow the housing authority to set aside 12 of those units as permanent supportive housing units for formerly homeless individuals.
Colorado Department of Local Affairs allocates $13.96M for affordable housing, eviction prevention and homeless relief (Denver Housing Authority)

The Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) Division of Housing (DOH) awarded $4.47M through the Colorado State Housing Board (SHB) for affordable housing in September.
DOLA also so far has supplied over $7.49M to renters and landlords across Colorado through the EHAP and POP programs since Governor Jared Polis signed Executive Order 70 in May and HB1410 in June, authorizing DOH to provide up to $29.65M in COVID-19-related housing payment relief.
