Cleveland's produce pop-ups seek to fill loss of pandemic-related increase in SNAP benefits (Cuyahoga MHA)

Lucas Metropolitan Housing, in partnership with the Local Initiative Support Corporation, announced Friday the launch of its first-ever Financial Opportunity Center.

The purpose of the FOC is to help residents build credit, grow assets and pursue career goals. LMH is the first public housing authority in Ohio to embed FOC services into its operations on behalf of residents.

Woodridge Local Schools, the city of Cuyahoga Falls and the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA) are partnering to provide free Wi-Fi to residents in public housing.

AMHA Director of Resident Services Christina Hodgkinson said the project began with enabling Wi-Fi in public spaces such as community rooms, offices and libraries. The next step was to enable Wi-Fi within living spaces.
