The Boston Housing Authority (BHA), Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh, LIHC Investment Group, and other partners announced HUD’s approval of their agreement to keep Boston’s Concord Houses affordable for the next 40 years, with the support of the building’s tenants. Concord House’s HUD subsidy provisions expired in 2017, making its long-term affordability status vulnerable. Ninety-five percent of households signed waivers to convert their Enhanced Vouchers (EVs) to a new project based rental assistance contract, and the remaining ten households in the community will receive EVs from BHA to help maintain their affordability.
