FRAC Webinar: Breakfast Matters

Date & time:
Thursday, December 14, 2017 - 5:00 am UTC
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) reauthorizes the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and replaces the No Child Left Behind Act. ESSA was designed to bring more decision-making back to state education agencies (SEAs) and local education agencies (LEAs— also referred to as school districts) and to ensure the wholistic needs of all students are met so they are prepared for the future, academically and professionally. All states have developed education plans to meet the goals of ESSA, including accountability measures and the kinds of supports that schools in the state will use to track and improve student outcomes. School districts are now in the process of creating their own local-level ESSA plans to achieve these goals. As states and school districts move forward with the implementation process, please join us to learn about opportunities to engage in the process at all levels and advocate for ESSA plans that increase access to child nutrition programs.
