Moving To Work
Executives and staff from the 39 public housing authorities that participate in the Moving to Work (MTW) Demonstration program gathered in Washington, D.C., this week for the 2019 MTW Conference, Bringing Innovation Home.
Congressional staff who focus on housing policy for key committees, Senators, and Representatives heard about the mission, work, and challenges of public housing authorities during a bus tour of several District of Columbia Housing Authority properties on Tuesday morning.
The MTW Steering Committee, on behalf of the MTW public housing agencies, has selected Nicole Barrett to serve as its first MTW Program Manager to lead research, policy analysis, and advocacy for the MTW program. The position will be managed by CLPHA in support of the MTW agencies.
In addition to her three years working at CLPHA as a Research & Policy Analyst, Nicole has been a policy advocate for the National Housing Trust, a management assistant in the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations at HUD, and a legislative intern in Congress.
