By vote of 83 to 16, the U.S Senate just passed a bipartisan appropriations package to fund nine departments and other agencies, including the U.S Department of Housing Urban Development, through September 2019. The spending deal, expected to pass the U.S. House of Representatives later this evening, will then go to President Trump for his signature, which, according to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is very likely.

Magazine quoted CLPHA Executive Director Sunia Zaterman and CLPHA members Kurt Wiest, Bremerton Housing Authority Executive Director, and Mark Gillett, Oklahoma City Housing Authority Executive Director, on how another government shutdown could continue to sow mistrust in public housing authorities (PHAs) and HUD.

The Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee will webcast its February 12 oversight hearing titled, “The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Management of Housing Contracts During the Shutdown.”
