The King County Housing Authority, in partnership with a number of organizations across the county working to help people experiencing homelessness, has achieved a lease-up rate of 90 percent for the 762 Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHVs) it was awarded through the Biden administration’s American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. This compares with a national lease-up rate of 50.98 percent.* Of the top 20 grantees ranked by award size, KCHA is the first housing authority to reach this utilization milestone.
EHV Leasing Faster Than Any Previous HUD Voucher Program
73-year-old Chicago resident Joe Ann Wilson spent nearly two decades in the same apartment, but during the COVID-19 pandemic she was forced to leave her home due to rising rents and subsequently moved between homeless shelters for a year and a half.

Today, HUD released its latest update to the EHV Dashboard to provide a summary, at the PHA-level, of the reported expenses for the EHV administrative and service fee. As a reminder, PHAs must report EHV Service Fees expenses each month
