On behalf of the Council of Large Public Housing Authorities (CLPHA), I am writing to express our support and to urge Senate passage of the recent House-passed HR 6800, the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions Act (“HEROES Act”), particularly provisions in the legislation pertaining to housing and community development policies and funding.

CLPHA Executive Director Sunia Zaterman Praises Waters’ Commitment to Public Housing
Last Friday, Congresswoman Maxine Waters joined Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles President & CEO Doug Guthrie at HACLA’s Avalon Gardens public housing community to distribute UHC’s cloth masks to residents. HACLA has received 25,000 masks from UHC so far, and thousands more masks are coming soon.
Last week, HUD’s Office of Asset Management and Portfolio Oversight (OAMPO) released a memo indicating that HUD will be allocating CARES Act supplemental funding resources for PBRA properties.
