Third Ward to unveil new pocket park at historic “Sugar Road” at Houston Housing Authority's Cuney Homes

The Columbia Tap Trail in Houston’s Third Ward will officially unveil its new pocket park and trail connection at the historic walking path on May 11 at 10 a.m. and will feature live music, food trucks, cycling activities and a kid’s zone.

The Third Ward on Tap “Tre Edition” unveiling event invites the community to celebrate the vibrancy of Third Ward and the trail. David A. Northern, Sr., CEO and President of Houston Housing Authority (HHA) said, “The completion of the Cuney Homes pocket park and trail connection is a significant step forward for our residents and the citizens of Third Ward.”

Northern said the revitalization of the trail is a reflection of the commitment to enhancing the community by creating accessible public spaces. HHA remained focused on leading vitality efforts by fostering a safer, more connected community.
