On November 17, 2022, HACSB joined community leaders from across the County for the White House Initiative Latino Economic Summit. The summit, which was held at California State University, San Bernardino, was the sixth in a series of events hosted by the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics and the Aspen Institute to “highlight the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to advancing equity and economic empowerment and connect local Latino community members directly with federal leaders and resources.” (https://sites.ed.gov/hispanic-initiative/white-house-initiative-latino-economic-summits/)
Rishad Mitha, HACSB Director of Operations, spoke as part of the event’s housing panel, providing information about HACSB’s community revitalization work at the Arrowhead Grove community in San Bernardino. HACSB is proud to have been part of this event, which also included U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, U.S. Energy Deputy Secretary David Turk, Congressman Pete Aguilar, and representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, National Science Foundation and U.S. Small Business Administration.
