From Louisville Metro Housing Authority's press release:
Louisville Metro Housing Authority (LMHA) today awarded five students $1,500 each during its 36th annual scholarship ceremony. After a two-year hiatus connected to the coronavirus pandemic, LMHA staff joined local leaders at Louisville Central Community Centers, Inc. to distribute the one-time awards.
“The LMHA Scholarship Committee is excited to return in person to honor this small but mighty group of students,” LMHA Special Programs Director, Dan Farrell, noted of the event. “We applaud them for working hard to build a better future for themselves and their families.”

Each 2022 scholarship recipient is a Housing Choice Voucher participant. The students range in age from 18 to 62 and are simultaneously pursuing their education, working, and providing for their families. Scholarships are awarded based upon a student’s grade point average, financial need, additional financial aid, written essay response, and an interview process. Money for the LMHA Scholarship program comes from Housing Choice Voucher reserve funds and supports the recipients’ tuition or books.
