Three CLPHA member housing authorities have named new executive directors:

  • New York City Mayor Eric Adams has appointed Adolfo Carrión Jr. to serve as commissioner of the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Carrión Jr. is the CEO and founder of Metro Futures LLC, a real estate development and consulting firm, and grew up in a New York City Housing Authority property.
  • The Houston Housing Authority has named David A. Northern, Sr. as president and CEO. Northern comes to Houston from the Housing Authority of the Birmingham District, the largest housing authority in Alabama. He will begin his tenure at HHA in late February.
  • Ivory Mathews has been selected as the new executive director of Home Forward, the Portland, OR housing authority. Most recently Mathews served as CEO of Columbia Housing in South Carolina. She is the first Black woman executive director of Home Forward in the agency’s 80-year history.

CLPHA congratulates these executive directors on their new roles and looks forward to continuing to work with their CLPHA member housing authorities!
