American Heart Association study finds that CPR education in public housing communities may improve cardiac arrest survival

In the United States, someone has a heart attack every 40 seconds. Every year, about 805,000 people in the United States have a heart attack. Of these, 605,000 are a first heart attack.

In a recent study of residential areas in Vienna, Austria and Copenhagen, Denmark, the American Heart Association found that CPR education in public housing communities may improve cardiac arrest survival. Learn more about AHA's study here.
