HHS COVID-19 Learning Community Chat: The DC Housing Authority’s Success to Increase Vaccine Uptake Through Partners

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Service’s Office of Minority Health recently spotlighted the District of Columbia Housing Authority success in leveraging partners to increase vaccine uptake in its communities as part of HHS’s COVID-19 Learning Community Chat webinar series. DCHA staffers Hammere Gebreyes, Byron Pugh, Cheryl Robinson, Sheila Lewis discussed best practices delivering vaccination clinics to their residents on-site where they live. In their presentation, DCHA staff: 

 

  1. Shared grassroots strategies and tactics to impact hard-to-reach communities;
  2. Presented challenges registering seniors on COVID-19 vaccines; and
  3. Shared successful outreach to stakeholders as partners—empowering them to educate seniors about COVID-19 vaccines
