Last week, the chairs of Fresno City and County announced the appointment of Tyrone Roderick Williams as the next Chief Executive Officer of Fresno Housing. Mr. Williams will join Fresno Housing on November 1. Mr. Williams has more than 25 years of experience in urban revitalization. His development activities have been at the forefront of neighborhood transformation efforts in Boston, Houston, Atlanta, and Sacramento. His background includes work in the for-profit, nonprofit, philanthropic and government sectors. He is an industry leader in organizational development, financing and project implementation. Most recently, Williams served as Deputy Executive Director at the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency.
The Memphis Housing Authority also recently named Dexter Washington as Chief Executive Officer following the retirement of Marcia Lewis, MHA’s previous executive director. Mr. Washington has been with MHA for a cumulative total of twelve years. During his tenure, he has worked in several areas of the agency, including the Housing Choice Voucher program, HOPE VI, and the Executive department where he served as the Chief Operating Officer for the company. Mr. Washington has over 15 years of experience in affordable housing administration, project planning/management and residential real estate development.
