This week Affordable Housing Finance named Sandra Henriquez, CEO  of the Detroit Housing Commission and former CLPHA board president, as one of ten of Affordable Housing's Leading Women.”

Ms. Henriquez has had a long and prestigious career in the public housing industry -- she previously served as HUD’s Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing from 2009 to 2014, the first woman to hold that position, and was on CLPHA’s Board of Directors from 1997 to 2009 (serving as Board President from 2004 to 2009) while she was the Administrator and CEO of the Boston Housing Authority.

Ms. Henriquez told AHF that providing affordable and stable housing is her “vocation and avocation.” “I believe changing housing for someone might just be what they need to do the other things they’ve dreamt about in their lives for themselves and their family,” she added.

CLPHA congratulates Ms. Henriquez on this recognition of her service to the industry. You can read AHF’s profile here.
