CLPHA, MTW Collaborative Urge White House, Congressional Leadership to Keep LIHTC Investments in BBB Legislation

Date Published:
November 3rd, 2021

In a joint letter sent today, CLPHA and the MTW Collaborative strongly urged President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to maintain investments in the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program as part of the historic Build Back Better legislation.

The Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) is a critical tool for developing affordable housing and is essential for leveraging the capital required to develop and redevelop aging public housing infrastructure. In our letter, we stress that strengthening the LIHTC is essential to successfully leveraging and increasing the impact of the combined $150 billion in new BBB housing investments.
