Tina Akers Brown Awarded 2020 Denise Maleska Leadership Service Award (Greensboro Housing Authority)

Greensboro Housing Authority CEO, Tina Akers Brown, was the recipient of the 2020 Denise Maleska Leadership Service Award by Leadership Greensboro. The award, presented at the 2020 Leadership Greensboro New year Reception, recognizes outstanding leadership in the Greensboro community.

Akers Brown began working for Greensboro Housing Authority (GHA) in 1996 as the Director of Housing Services. She was promoted in 1998 to Deputy Director for Operations, ultimately becoming CEO in 2001. Her service and leadership of GHA is historic, as she is the first African-American CEO and one of the longest serving in the organizational history.
