CLPHA Members Respond to the COVID-19 Pandemic

During the COVID-19 pandemic, CLPHA member PHAs are going above and beyond to continue to serve their residents and voucher holders.

Public housing authorities (PHAs) provide shelter to some of the nation's lowest-income and most vulnerable populations. Low-income individuals and families are being hit especially hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent economic crisis. Because PHAs provide housing and other services to these vulnerable families, they are uniquely positioned to connect this population with crucial resources and services where they live as people across the county stay home to fight the virus's spread.

As the COVID-19 pandemic started to take hold across the country, CLPHA member PHAs jumped into action. By using the resources at their disposal, adapting their operations, thinking creatively, and connecting with local partners, PHAs are helping their residents and voucher holders get the food, supplies, and information they need quickly and safely. In this special edition of our newsletter, you will see how our members are:

  • Feeding residents
  • Keeping residents informed
  • Making communities safer
  • Providing supplies
  • Increasing internet access
  • Checking in with residents

CLPHA applauds our member PHAs' generosity, determination, diligence, and strength during this crisis. To learn more about how CLPHA and our members are responding to COVID-19, visit
