A new public health funding opportunity from the Public Health National Center for Innovations (PHNCI) and the Center for Sharing Public Health Services (CSPHS) could help support public housing authorities that are building and sustaining cross-sector health partnerships. PHNCI and CSPHS are jointly leading the grant opportunity through their Cross-Sector Innovation Initiative to examine the unique role of public health in fostering work across multiple sectors addressing social determinants of health and health equity.
This opportunity is especially well-suited to PHAs looking to position themselves as essential housing providers addressing housing stability as a key social determinant of health. This initiative is also an opportunity for those PHAs already working with health departments and other community-based healthcare providers as they seek collaborations that include public health and healthcare partners in addition to other social services. CSII will make up to 10 awards of up to $150,000 each for projects launching in early 2020. Brief proposals are due by September 5, 2019 at 3PM ET.
