We are currently recruiting for a talented and passionate Resident Services Coordinator that will serve Public Housing residents in the Southwest Region of King County, including White Center, Auburn, Federal Way and surrounding areas. The goal of this position is to assist residents in maintaining their public housing and increase resident engagement with King County Housing Authority, their neighbors and community partners.
Under the general supervision of the Resident Services Manager, the Resident Services Community Builder (Resident Services Coordinator) will work with residents to maintain housing stability by providing information and referral services to assist residents to get in compliance with lease and program requirements and acting as a liaison between residents and KCHA Property Management staff. The successful candidate will provide resource and referral services to Public Housing residents and will coordinate community events and activities to promote resident stability and engagement.
This position will be located at Greenbridge (White Center) and travel to other assigned sites throughout south King County working closely with our residents, property management and community resources. Some remote work may be authorized after the initial probation period.
The Resident Services Coordinator will:
- Work with KCHA staff and Public Housing participants to support resident housing stability and solve housing issues.
- Assess resident needs and provide information about and referrals to social services; provide information and connect participants to programs and services that will help participants achieve their goals; help residents apply for and maintain social services and entitlements.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with community partners to ensure residents have access to information, services and assistance for which they qualify; act as a liaison between local community governmental agencies, community councils, individuals and residents.
- Coordinate, plan and implement community events (e.g. summer BBQ, resource fairs, community network meetings and learning workshops), as KCHA policy allows. This requires following KCHA guidelines and VRT policies. Community and partner meetings through Zoom and resident meetings over the phone are an acceptable alternative.
- Meet with residents to discuss their situation and help problem solve; assist residents in identifying and resolving challenges and issues.
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, work plans, performance measures, and continuous improvement of service delivery to assist in attaining the program initiatives and goals, agency core strategies, and mission.
- Create and sustains partnerships and service resources to assist and support residents in their efforts to become self-sufficient.
- Use data tracking software/systems (OnBase, ETO and TenMast) to input participant data on a regular basis; verify accuracy of data on a regular basis.
- Complete all required paperwork and maintain participant files through per department documentation standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor's Degree with degrees preferred in social work, human services, public administration or related field AND
- Considerable experience in social services, housing programs and/or community development programming, government work OR
- An equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

- Must possess a valid driver's license and transportation to regularly travel between work sites. Must have an acceptable driving record at time of appointment and throughout employment.

Salary & Benefits:
The starting salary range for this position is $66,411.00 - $81,354.00 annually dependent on qualifications and professional experience. The complete salary range for this position is $66,411.00 - $96,296.00 annually. Performance based merit increase opportunities and COLAs are reviewed on an annual basis.
