Position Summary: As a Moving to Work (MTW) Expansion Agency under the Landlord Incentives Cohort #3, this position will report Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Manager. The HCV Specialist coordinates, implements, and monitors the Wiregrass Regional Voucher Program (WRVP) tenant and landlord processes new admissions and annual and interim reexaminations. The incumbent will also review tenant applications, determine income and family composition eligibility, and compute housing assistance payments and family rental rates. Work includes lease negotiations, resolution of property damages, and participant/landlord complaints.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Public Administration, Social Services, or a related field. Two (2) years of experience in responsible public contact, preferably in Human Relations or Social Work. Public Housing or Section 8 experience preferred. OR,
- Associate’s degree or two (2) years of completed college from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business/Public Administration, Social Services, or a related field. Four (4) years of experience in responsible public contact, preferably in Human Relations or Social Work. Public Housing or Section 8 HCV experience preferred.
- Must be certified or obtain HCV Specialist or equivalent within one year of employment.
