Job Title:

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Organization:
Volunteers of America National Services
Job Location:
Alexandria, VA
Full Job Description:

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

The Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS), headquartered in Alexandria, VA, seeks a mission-driven, strategic, relationship-oriented executive to serve as the organization's next Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Volunteers Of America (VOA,) the parent organization of VOANS, is a national, faith-based interdenominational nonprofit dedicated to helping those in need live healthy, safe, and productive lives.

As one of the largest non-profit affordable housing owners/operators in the nation, VOANS has an annual revenue of $442 million, employs over 3,100 professionals nationwide and is governed by a separate Board of Directors. The VOANS portfolio includes over 240 properties and 12,900 affordable housing units in over 40 states and Puerto Rico. VOANS also operates over 46 senior healthcare programs, including skilled nursing, assisted living, home health care, adult day, and Program for All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), serving approximately 2,500 people every day.

Reporting directly to the President and CEO of VOA and VOANS Board of Directors, the COO is directly responsible for the strategic direction and operations of VOANS. In partnership with the VOA CEO and VOANS Board of Directors, the COO will need to analyze the current programs and services offered by VOANS and reposition the organization for long term success. It is imperative that the COO is a collaborative leader able to build, strengthen, and leverage relationships with executive leaders across VOA and the VOA Affiliates. As VOANS seeks to improve its financial position and long term sustainability, this leader must partner closely with VOA's COO and CFO to identify areas for cost containment, revenue generation, and operational efficiencies.
