Full Job Description: 

The Tacoma Housing Authority provides high quality, stable and sustainable housing, and supportive services to people in need. It does this in ways that help them prosper and help our communities become safe, vibrant, prosperous, attractive, and just.

The Director of Asset Management and Real Estate Development (AMRED) supports THA’s strategic and operational objectives by managing, supervising, planning, and coordinating the AMRED department to oversee THA’s development, asset management and risk management functions.

The Director works collaboratively to set a strategy to achieve THA goals planned for the next 5 years:

  • Add at least 500 new units of affordable housing through development or partnerships.
  • Purchase at least 200 housing units that can be prioritized for voucher holders.
  • Rehabilitate and or refinance at least 100 units of existing housing to improve quality of life for tenants and long-term viability of the property.

Successful candidates will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in architecture, engineering, finance, urban planning, construction, or related field.
  • 8 or more yrs increasingly responsible housing and commercial real estate development experience which includes 3 yrs management and administrative responsibility. 
  • 8 or more yrs experience with asset management or risk management
  • Tax credit, HOME, CDBG, and Washington State Housing Trust Fund funding experience.
  • Moving-to-Work or Faircloth-to-RAD experience preferred
  • 5 or more years experience as a supervisor.

$128,000-$166,400.00 per year + comprehensive benefits package, paid leave, state retirement plans, other benefits.
