Characteristics of the Class: Under general direction the individual in this class is responsible for: investigating, mediating, and resolving inquiries registered by clients, owners and public officials, training, and developing of quality standards for Housing Inspectors and acting as spokesperson for Section 8 administration.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Mediates disputes over procedures and HUD policy.
- Makes recommendation to resolve problems arising from Section 8 program administration.
- Serves as liaison and spokesperson for Section 8 program administration and make presentations to Owner Groups, the general public, and other public agencies.
- Reviews, revises, and edits forms used in Section 8 program administration.
- Prepares Housing Standards Training bulletins and conducts training for Housing Authority Inspectors.
- Performs other duties as directed.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or another social science -AND- three (3) years of experience in dispute resolution, investigative techniques, community relations, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements: Must possess a valid California Class "C" Driver's License.

EXAMINATION

Applicants must pass each phase of the testing process with a rate of 80% or higher to be placed on the "Certified List". Generation of a Certified List does not mean that there are any vacant and available positions at this time. The Certified List will be available for not less than 6 consecutive calendar months.
THE EXAMINATION FOR THIS POSITION WILL OCCUR ON August 9, 2022. If you are invited to the examination process, you will receive an email from a HR Recruiter NO LATER THAN Wednesday, August 3, 2022. This will be your only notice. There will be no changes to the date(s) of the examination.

Candidates will start at STEP 1 of an eight step salary range unless there are special exceptions in accordance with the Personnel Rules.
